Augusta, GA Fall Clean Up
You survived the 5 month long Georgia summer and have finally made it into the cooler months of fall. You can afford to open the windows to let in some of the cooler air and the kids can stay outside without you worrying about them developing heat stroke. And let’s be honest, the best part of fall is watching the green leaves turn to those beautiful shades of red, orange and brown. Not to mention the joy of picking up all the leaves off the lawn. What’s that? That doesn’t sound very fun to you? That’s what we figured. Well, lucky for you, Augusta Lawn Care and Maintenance loves to pick up those unwanted leaves for you.

So you might be asking yourself, “What’s the point of getting the leaves off the ground? I can just leave them on the lawn and get rid of them in the spring time.” This is a very valid thought, but there are some things you might not have considered. Sure, it’s fun to let your kids gather up the leaves into a pile and jump into them. We strongly encourage you to have fun with your kids and to participate in the age-old tradition of playing in the leaf piles. We have families too and we want you to enjoy yours. You can enjoy them more by once you’re done with those leaf piles hiring us to get rid of them.
Too much ground cover (or in this case having your entire lawn covered in leaves) can result in your grass being in very poor health. Grass does go into a dormant state (especially in Augusta) when the soil temperature drops below 70 degrees, but even though the grass is dormant, all those leaves still pose a significant health risk to your lawn. You wouldn’t wear soaking wet wool socks on your feet any longer than you’d have to, right? The same goes for your lawn. All those leaves on top of the grass act as a blanket that keeps moisture on the lawn. Too much moisture on the lawn, especially during the colder months, can lead to widespread fungus issues that might take years to resolve and have the potential to kill a lot of you grass.

Some people will say letting the leaves decompose on the lawn will act as a natural fertilizer, but this is a common misconception. By letting those leaves stay on the lawn until spring rolls around, you’re gambling with the life of your lawn. You want your yard looking good through the spring and summer months, so its best to take care of it during the other months too!
Augusta Lawn Care and Maintenance will also make sure that we get rid of any fallen limbs that often make their way onto a lawn during the fall months. As with our Regular Lawn Maintenance, we will also take the time to clean out your flower beds and make sure that are just as clean as the lawn.

Fall is for football, family, and watching the leaves change color; not using precious time to rake up those leaves. Give us a call and let us handle it for you!
